Columbus Easter Egg Hunt

On April 3rd, 2010 at Columbus Elementary, the Easter Bunny joined our Lions Club and many happy kids for the Annual Easter Egg hunt. The fun started at 10:am and there were free prize drawings before the hunt. Parents and kids alike had a great time with the drawing and the hunt. All the kids went home with a bag of Easter candy, and many went home with prizes as well!

The Columbus Lion's Pancake Breakfasts

Columbus Lions Pancake Breakfasts are a great place to get a terrific breakfast, chat with old friends and meet new ones. The Columbus Lion's Pancake Breakfast on May 16th was terrific. We would like to thank all persons that helped us with the many duties involved in a pancake breakfast, Boy Scout Troop 414 did an awesome job helping with cleaning and bussing tables- Thank You!

Columbus Lion's Pancake Breakfasts are at the Columbus Senior Center from 8am to 1pm on the posted dates. Our next Columbus Lion's Pancake Breakfast will be held on September 12th, 2010. Our breakfast prices are: Adults $4.50, Children 5-12 $3.00, Families up to 6 $14.00.

The Dictionary Project

The Columbus Lions presented Dictionaries to the third grade students attending Columbus Elementary in October, 2009.

The Dictionary Project is designed to aid third grade teachers in their goal to see all their students leave at the end of the year as good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and better spellers in an era of text messaging where poor spelling is encouraged. Our purpose is to provide third grade students in the community with their own personal dictionary. The dictionary is for the students to keep, so they can take it with them into the fourth grade and use it throughout their school career. We are looking forward to presenting next years third graders with their dictionaries in October.
